Rolls Razor was founded around 1920 at Battersea (London, UK). Rolls Razor is probably best known because of its sets of safety razors with a sharpening device and later its manually driven Viceroy Non-electric Dry Shaver. End 1940s and in the 1950s Rolls Razor also manufactured electric shavers.

The Chicago Flexible Shaft Company already had a history as a manufacturer of horse clippers, when it started manufacturing electric shavers with the Sunbeam brand in 1937. Sunbeam was an important brand, but vanished from the market when the company broke up in the 1980's.

Stahly's wind-up wet shaving razor is a curiosity from the 1940s and 1950s. Within a few years Stahly Inc. came into serious financial trouble, but the Stahly razor has been on the market for about 30 years. The wind-up motor drives an unbalanced rotor which makes the shaving head and double edge razorblade vibrate.
